When I open "my computer", I get a floppy drive as one of my devices.. but I don't have one.. Surely Windows 7 should be able to figure this out???

I'm sure the 'hide empty drives' only applies to memory card type drives although I have seen it when an internal drive didn't have an active partition. Previously with Vista when you had a card reader installed it would list a heck of a lot of empty drives, one for each slot which to me seems pointless.
